Our unit portrays the elite German Fallschirmjager (paratrooper) of WW2.  The FJ for short, had the nickname of "Grunen Teufels" or Green Devil, and their motto was: "Treue um Treue" or Loyalty for Loyalty.

FJR7 was organized as a re-enactment group in the summer of 2006.  The members of FJR7 came from other well rounded units including other Fallschirmjager units, Luftwaffe Ground Division units, Gebirgsjager(mountain troops) units,  Waffen SS units, and Wehrmacht/Heer Army groups.  Most members of FJR7 have been re-enacting for over 5years, and many of the unit members live in the Eastern PA area with others from MD, NJ, NY, and VA.

Although the Fallschirmjager impression is our main impression, we also have members who also portray the Luftwaffe Ground Troop, and the Herman Goring Panzer Grenadier.  Having a unit doing multiple impressions helps us branch out to others who may have left another unit or wants to do a side impression, and who does not want to spend the money to convert to Fallschirmjager.  About 90% of a German re-enacting kit (Heer/Army or SS) will cross over to fit into a Luft. Ground or H.G. Panzer Gren. impression.  The only items a new member may have to acquire is a Luftwaffe belt buckle, a Luftwaffe blue hat (M43 or overseas), and a Luftwaffe camouflage ground jacket or a Waffen SS (oak or plain tree style) smock.  Having multiple impressions also helps the unit to attend some events where the Fallschirmjager did not participate in real historical battles.

By looking into the uniforms and weapons link above, you will see the different types of uniforms of all three Luftwaffe impressions we portray.  There you will find the "meaning/description" of some words I used above(M43, overseas cap, and different camoflauge. patterns).  Also there will be a field equipment guide as well in that section, to help understand the gear we use at re-enactment battles and public displays.

Since many members have multiple impressions, we have the ability to loan out uniforms and gear to those interested to try re-enacting before jumping in 100%.  This is a fun hobby that does require you to be in descent physical shape, or at least it keeps you "in shape" without going to the gym.  You have remember, we are "living as the veterans/soldiers did, some 60 years ago", so if sleeping in foxholes, firing belt fed machine guns(blanks of course), and getting dirty is ok with you...you will enjoy this hobby like we do.   Contact Doug at: fireater40@verizon.net if interested.
